Rdesktop Autoselected Keyboard Map En-us Error Unable To Connect

I've tried using rdesktop to remote desktop to my XP machine. This machine is on the same LAN, both connected via Ethernet cables through a switch. I'm a bit of a beginner at using Linux, so please treat me as an idiot!
I've installed rdesktop using:That worked fine...
The current IP address of my XP machine is: 192.168.1.71
Now in trying to run rdesktop, I'm trying this:
I wonder if I need anything in addition to the IP address; In the rdesktop guidance it says:
I've tried 'the switch's IP address':192.168.1.71 and still no joy. I've also tried using the mac address for 'port', and still no joy...
Any help is really appreciated,

...and getting this back:It spends some time trying, about 20 to 30 seconds perhaps, so it's like it's really trying, and not just bombing out immediately...I wonder if I need anything in addition to the IP address; In the rdesktop guidance it says:
